When it comes to Assyrian graduates, the more the better, as they are the future of our nation as a whole!

At its annual 'Graduation Picnic' on July19th 2009, ACSSU was thrilled to have 11 graduates from the 2008-2009 year, whom obtained high school diplomas, Bachelor's degrees, Masters degrees and even one who graduated elementary school! Held at Confederation Park in Hamilton, the picnic was a great success with good attendance, great weather, beautiful scenery and just overall a great time with over 40 students, friends and supporters. Although this was a great time to enjoy the summer and meet fellow students and graduates, it is also a time to reflect on what these students have accomplished with all the hard work that was invested in their degree. As a student union, we at ACSSU recognize these accomplishments and strive to promote higher education within our community for the future of our nation. As a simple reward, ACSSU gave each graduate a picture frame, engraved with "ACSSU" as well as food and drinks free of charge.

We thank all attendees for joining us and we wish the new graduates success in their next academic step, or in the professional world.

We hope that more students in the Assyrian community successfully accomplish their goals and complete their academic degrees. We will be here to celebrate with you!
