Luke Isaac Scholarship 2010-2011
The Assyrian Chaldean Syriac Student Union (ACSSU) of Canada has recently established an annual scholarship in memory of a York University graduate, Luke Isaac. While being an ACSSU member at the York U. branch, Luke earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and had begun a career in the banking and commerce industry in the downtown area of Toronto. His passions were music and cultural studies and close friends say that "he just loved life". Luke was a funny, caring, thoughtful and positive person whose family and friends will always cherish. Luke Isaac passed away tragically on April 12th, 2006 in a motor vehicle accident. This scholarship is to honour Luke’s commitment to higher education and to his community.
ACSSU of Canada is very pleased to award Ms. Sherly Kyorkis the first Luke Isaac Scholarship for 2008. Sherly will begin post-graduate studies at McMaster University. Congratulations Ms. Kyorkis!
